Glaze Lab with Mary - Saturdays Fall 2025
Ages 18+
This workshop will cover the application of specialty glazes, how they work in conjunction with other glazes, and how gravity and form affect their outcome. Students should have some previous experience with handbuilding and glazing, and should be prepared (and excited!) for unexpected results. We will build simple forms using slabs, focusing on experiments in surface design using underglazes and specialty (gloop, crawl, puff) glazes.
Class Dates:
9/13/25 - Build a bowl using a mold
9/20/25 - Underglaze and glaze
9/27/25 - First glaze results/more glaze
10/4/25 - Handbuild new pieces from slabs
10/11/25 - Finish/underglaze new pieces
** 10/18/25 - No instruction, students glaze independently **
10/25/25 - Second glaze results & resources

We understand plans change, and do offer a credit towards painting pottery or a class in the future. Kindly cancel one week before the start of class/session to receive a 50% credit. No credit can be given for cancellations within 1 week of the start date.
